Reminders

SITE BEING UPDATED

1. For those of you who want to share a room to cut down on expenses, please contact one of the convention co-chairs for assistance. We will start a list of those who want a roommate and match you with those who are willing to share their room. If you are one of these individuals, please contact the co-chairs asap.

2. Registration goes up June 1st to $300. We decided to just raise the next tier by $25 instead of $50 to try to encourage people to register. Please pass the word along through your social media accounts.

3. The cut-off date for registering at the hotel is June 9th. Please make your reservations long before this deadline.

4. The Awards Committee is looking for a few good men! Please make your nominations for the variety of awards we will hand out at convention this July. Check our NA website and 2025 convention website for the forms to fill out. Do this ASAP because the cut-off date is June 1st.

5. The B. Chambers scholarships are also on-line for you to hand out to deserving individuals. We are handing out two – $2,500 scholarships this year. The deadline for this scholarship is also May 31st.

6. Just a reminder that you might want to stop by a Dollar General or Dollar Tree and pick up some snacks, drinks, and drink cups for your hotel room.

7. Those of you who decide to come to KC early, there will a list of attractions and museums (by groups) for you to choose from. Most are near the hotel. Hopefully many of you will rent a car as the street car will not be running yet! The exact list of attractions is in another section in this newsletter. Maps will be available at the registration table.

8. This year’s theme is “Show Me Love, Show Me KC, Show Me NABWMT.” With this in mind, let’s show each other a little love, a little kindness, and a little TLC in July at convention and beyond. Several workshops will showcase KC, and some others will showcase NABWMT. SMILE!

9. Benny is once again our official photographer for all things convention. He will be taking photos of everyone and videotaping many convention functions. At the registration table, there will be a form to fill out if you DO  NOT want to be photographed or videotaped. With this in mind, if you do not want to be photographed or videotaped, please position yourself to where you will not be photographed or videotaped during the convention. Thank you for your cooperation concerning this matter.

10. Just a reminder that those people who need financial help with convention-related expenses, there are two options for you. The Michael Smith Fund can be accessed by writing to the NA Co-Chairs explaining your circumstances and asking for assistance from this fund for convention-related expenses. You can also access the Wendell Roberson Fund, for those that are HIV positive and need assistance with convention expenses, by also writing to the NA Co-Chairs and explaining your circumstances. Almost no one is turned down for access to these funds.

11. If you have food allergies or are a vegetarian, please let the CPC know this ASAP. We will do everything possible to meet your needs (seriously, no pun intended)!

12. If you are driving and are planning to park at the hotel, please note: the FIRST TIME you pull into the parking garage, you will need to enter your phone number to open the gate. Park your car and proceed to the front desk. There, you will receive your PARKING PASS. This pass will allow you to come and go all week!
